Overview

Operation: Restore Boundless is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi action drama about the nation of Truem and their on-going battle against a mutagen virus. Once thought to be subdued, the psychological and physiological altering Z-virus is seemingly creeping back into the nation at full force, threatening to wreak global havoc as it did millennia ago. Two entities rise to the occasion, Research Corporation Eunity Science and recently closed-down research institute Boundless Science. Despite the difference in current-day societal impact between the two, they are neck and neck trying to find a cure to the Z-virus and restore harmony to the civilians of Truem once and for all.

While the story takes place in Truem, the world of O:RB is spread across 5 countries: Avorial, Hedragloria, Croaver, Python, and Truem

Races (Truem)

Since the mystery cataclysm and the beginning of the Newer World, humans have had physical characteristics different from their early ancestors. For “convenience's sake,” The Amity government and, gradually, society at large has adopted a social system that groups these physical characteristics together into “races.” All of these races are native to Truem, and the other 5 continents under the Amity Empire. When the empire split and Truem became its own country, it still remained a melting pot.

Herblans

Herblans are characterized by their upward pointed ears, muted skin tones, and hairless claws. Rarely, they can also have floral discolorations/patterns on the surface of their skin. But their most defining feature is the plant life that effortlessly and painlessly grows from their body. 99% of Herblans have a plant growing from them, making it easily their most identifiable trait. Even mixed Herblan offspring will have plants growing from them (albeit smaller or in a more concealed area of the body). These plants can range from flowers, to vines, to ferns, to just leaves. Are most often seen growing at the tip of long, hairless tails. Occasionally, plant life can grow from other limbs, some popular alternatives being the back, the head, and the ears.

Chemonomians

Chemonomians are characterized by their large frames, and the traits shared with furbearer animal species. These similar traits are usually found within (but are not limited to) the canidae, felidae, lagomorpha, ursidae, or rodentia families. For Chemonomians, this causes excess fur, furry limbs, and hair that encompasses their entire bodies. Any tails, ears, and claws they possess are usually covered in fur and share bone structures with the aforementioned furbearer species. They can have manes, scalp hair that can grow past their ankles, and very long/puffy facial hair. Additionally, Chemonomians are usually taller and broader than the other races, not reaching their full height until their early thirties. The colors of their skin are usually muted, but their hair and fur comes in a variety of hues.

Ichthyins

The Ichthyins are characterized by their big eyes, gills and fins. Their arms and legs will have fins of all different shapes and sizes, as well as gills in their neck. Their fingers are webbed. Their irises and pupils are large and circular. Oftentimes, their noses and ears are small or entirely flat. Their skin and fins come in a variety of colors.

Aviaque

The physical attributes most unique to Aviaques are the ones they share with Aves. This leads to other races calling them “bird-like.” Most notable are talons and feathers. The Aviaques may have talons for hands, talons for feet, or both, in many different shapes and sizes. But almost all of them will have feathers on their body. Feathers can be found on just about any part of an Aviaque’s body, and also come in many different shapes, and lengths. They can often act as a substitute for facial and scalp hair as well. On rare occasions, Aviaques will sometimes have wings on their backs, but they’re nonfunctional structures. As for their colors, both their feathers and skin will come in a variety of colors, while talon skin will usually be muted or yellow.

Osteons

The physical feature that defines the Osteon existence is their bones. All Osteons develop external bone structures at some point in their lives, mostly between 1 and 25 years of age. These structures can take the forms of spikes, a protruding spine, a boney tail, boned claws, or boned toes. But the most common external bone structure seen on Osteons by far is horns. These horns can come in many different shapes, sizes, and can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. Sometimes, these horn structures can even appear similar to those found in Antilocapridae, Cervidae, and Bovidae. Other common but less prominent features include downward pointed ears, slitted pupils, and black scleras.

The virus

The Z-Virus [Initial Outbreak]

A psychological and physical altering mutagen that first appeared in Vellbontri in the summer of 6126. Effects were immediate. The victims of the virus during the initial outbreak suffered the most. Their entire psychologies changed turning them into destructive, chaotic, and barbaric beings. As for their bodies, they went through multiple distorting mutations such as growing extra limbs, duplicating existing limbs, and more often than not, their limbs would morph into something completely different. Their bodies were often seen tainted with blood, whether it was their own, distinctly purple-stained blood (From the physical mutations damaging and ripping their bodies apart) or blood from the ones they’ve killed. There were rarely any victims of the initial outbreak who gained psychic abilities or could control their mutations at will.Treatment: Even when Boundless Science was established and CEO Genesis Crane vowed that Boundless would create an antidote, it never came to be. In place of a cure, Boundless deployed an army of "Boundless Agents" that dealt with the infected by essentially keeping them in custody within Boundless facilities. Miraculously and without reason, most infected that were taken in eventually came to on their own terms. To keep Truem safe while the scientists at Boundless were developing a cure.

The Z-Virus [Current]

A psychological and physical altering mutagen that first appeared in Vellbontri in the summer of 6126 that evolved into something different three centuries later. There are no physical or gas forms of the virus, and it can only be acquired through inheritence. The minds of those infected with the the virus and the minds of those who aren't are practically the same. Those with physical mutations can fully control them, and their bodies can fully heal back to their original states after a mutation (Ex. If the mutation was an extra arm, they can fully grow and withdraw the extra arm without hurting themselves). The blood of the infected is red for minor injuries, while their purple blood is only exposed from deep wounds. Those who develop psychic abilities are also becoming more prevalent among the infected. When the president of Truem of the [6390s] revealed herself to be infected, the public's perception of the infected altered slightly, but enough to bring about change regarding their position in society; The Boundless Agents were to target only "the infected who pose a threat to others and themselves." While this subjectivity still made the infected glaring targets from both civilians and Boundless Agents, they were lawfully free to participate in society.Treatment: Since Boundless is no longer in operation, Eunity Science is tasked with creating the antidote to the virus. Those still infected with the virus that "pose a threat to others and themselves." are to be brought into the special care of Eunity

The Z-Virus VARIANT [Current]

An early version of the psychological and physical altering mutagen that first appeared in Vellbontri in the summer of 6126, has reappeared in modern-day Truem. Effects are seemingly immediate. The victims of this new outbreak are suffering the most. Their entire psychologies change, turning them self-destructive, chaotic, and barbaric beings. As for their bodies, they go through multiple distorting mutations such as growing extra limbs, duplicating existing limbs, and more often than not, their limbs would morph into something completely different. While not often spotted, their bodies are usually seen tainted with their own, distinctly purple-stained blood from the physical mutations damaging and ripping their bodies apart. There are rarely any victims of this new outbreak who gain psychic abilities or could control their mutations at will. And what makes this outbreak unique from the one centuries earlier is its targeting of "non-infected;" The only people who are becoming infected with this ancient strain of the Z-Virus are those who haven't already inherited it.Treatment: Since Boundless is no longer in operation, Eunity Science is tasked with investigating this new outbreak. Those infected with the ancient version of the Z-Virus or "newly infected," are to be brought into the special care of Eunity
